Give your group a public-facing mini-website — an about page, a welcome hub, embedded polls and events, and more.

What is Website Builder?

Website Builder lets you build a small public website for your group — accessible to anyone with the link, even people who aren't Grūps App members. You control which pages are published and how they're organized in navigation.

Common uses:

• A public "About us" or welcome page for prospective members
• A club constitution, code of conduct, or rule book
• An event schedule or season preview embedded from your calendar
• A news and announcements hub
• A contact or registration page

Viewing Your Group's Pages

Each group's public website has its own URL. Published pages are visible to anyone with the link — no login required.

The public site includes a navigation sidebar showing all published pages that have navigation enabled. On desktop, the sidebar is always visible on the left. On mobile, a hamburger button in the top-left corner opens it as a slide-in drawer.

Each page shows:

• The page title and content
• An estimated reading time
• A "Last updated" date in the footer
• A bookmark button to save the page for quick access later
• A copy link button to share the page URL

Managing Pages Admin

Open Website Builder from your group's navigation to see the full list of your group's pages. This management view is only visible to admins and content managers — not to regular members.

From the management list you can:

• Reorder pages — use the up/down arrow buttons to change the order pages appear in navigation
• Toggle nav visibility — the eye icon controls whether a page appears in the public navigation sidebar
• View the live page — tap the external link icon to open the published page in a browser
• Edit — tap the pencil icon to open the page editor
• Duplicate — creates a copy of the page as a draft with nav hidden. Useful for creating a new page based on an existing layout.
• Delete — removes the page permanently (requires confirmation)

Creating a Page Admin

1. Open Website Builder and tap the + button in the header.
2. Enter a title — up to 255 characters. The URL slug is generated from the title automatically.
3. Write your content — see Writing Content below.
4. Configure page settings — status, navigation, URL, and SEO. See Page Settings.
5. Tap Save or Save & Close.

Writing Content

Rich text editor

Depending on your plan, pages use a full rich text editor. You can format content with:

• Headings (H1–H6), paragraphs, and blockquotes
• Bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough
• Ordered and unordered lists
• Links, inline code, and code blocks
• Text colour and highlights
• Text alignment
• Image uploads directly in the page body
• YouTube video embeds
• Grūps App widget embeds (see below)

Plain text (Basic and Free)

Where the rich text editor isn't available on your plan, a plain text area is used instead, with no formatting.

Character limits

The editor shows a live word count, reading time estimate, and character count as you write. The counter turns red when you approach the limit.

Embedding Widgets

Depending on your plan, you can embed live Grūps App content directly inside a page using the Insert Widget button in the editor toolbar. Embedded content updates automatically — you don't need to edit the page when your data changes.

Page Settings

The right panel in the page editor contains all settings for the current page.

Status

• Published — the page is live and publicly accessible
• Draft — the page is saved but not visible to the public

Show in Navigation

Toggle whether this page appears in the public navigation sidebar. You can publish a page without adding it to navigation — useful for pages you want to share via a direct link without cluttering the sidebar.

Table of Contents

When enabled, a sticky table of contents sidebar is generated automatically from the H2 and H3 headings in the page body. The ToC highlights the current section as readers scroll. Requires at least 2 headings and a wide-enough screen (≥ 1200 px) to display.

URLs & Navigation

URL slug

Each page gets a URL based on its title. The slug is generated automatically but can be customized in the Filename field in the page settings. The Home page slug is fixed and cannot be changed.

Parent pages (nested hierarchy)

Use the Parent Page selector to nest a page under another. Child pages appear as an indented list under their parent in the navigation sidebar. Visitors can expand and collapse parent items to reveal their children.

Subdirectories

You can organize pages into subdirectories (e.g. /rules/general vs /rules/conduct). Select an existing subdirectory from the dropdown or create a new one.

The URL preview in the settings panel shows the full public URL for the page and updates live as you change the slug, parent, or subdirectory. A copy button copies the URL to your clipboard.

SEO

The SEO section in the page settings controls how the page appears in search engines and when shared on social media.

• Meta description — up to 160 characters. This text appears in search results and link previews. The counter turns red when over the limit.
• No-index — check this box to prevent search engines from indexing the page. Useful for pages you want to keep out of search results even though they're published and publicly accessible.

Page Limits

The limits bar at the bottom of the Website Builder management list shows:

• How many pages your group has used out of your plan limit
• The maximum characters per page for your plan
