Grūps App v0.8.7 ships today with three significant additions: full multi-language support, a complete web billing system, and a round of performance improvements that make the app noticeably snappier.

12 languages

Grūps App is now available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, and Hebrew.

Arabic and Hebrew use right-to-left layouts throughout the entire app. Your language is detected automatically from your device and can be changed at any time in Settings.

Subscribe and manage your plan on the web

You no longer need to use a mobile app to manage your Grūps App subscription:

  • Subscribe, upgrade, or downgrade your plan inline on the web — no redirect
  • Payment is handled with a card form directly on the page; changing plans doesn't require re-entering card details
  • A new Billing page shows your payment methods, invoice history with PDF download links, and your next billing date
  • Cancelling keeps your access until the end of your current billing period

Performance improvements

Several changes in this release make a real difference to how fast the app feels:

  • Groups open significantly faster — a rendering issue was causing three full layout flushes on every group entry
  • Pages load faster on Android and iOS: the sidebar and announcement banner are no longer built in the background on mobile
  • Stripe's payment library now loads only on billing pages instead of on every page
  • Fonts now use your device's built-in typeface (SF Pro on iOS, Roboto on Android) — previously the app fetched a web font on every launch, adding around 150ms to startup time

In-app purchases (iOS and Android)

  • The annual billing toggle is now visible and working on iOS and Android
  • Prices display correctly — a formatting issue was showing "$NaN" in some cases
  • "Switch to Free" on native now opens App Store or Google Play subscription management directly
  • Team tier subscription is now recognised correctly

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a login error affecting accounts created during an early data migration
  • Fixed admin password reset returning a 404 error
  • Fixed the group announcement banner appearing twice on some pages
  • Fixed duplicate rows appearing in subscription history when upgrading or downgrading
