Grūps App v0.9.4 is a big one — passkey sign-in, a major booking overhaul, event improvements, file version history, member group rosters, and significant performance gains across the board.

Sign-in & Security

You can now sign in using a passkey — Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN — with no password required. After logging in you'll be prompted once to set one up, and passkeys can be managed any time from Settings → Security.

Passwords now support two styles: a traditional password (8+ characters with mixed types) or a simple passphrase (12+ characters). Both are accepted throughout the app. Login, sign-up, and password reset are now rate-limited to protect your account from automated attacks.

Bookings

Booking confirmation emails now include a calendar attachment (.ics) so you can add appointments straight to your calendar app. Hosts receive email and push notifications for new bookings and reschedules, and a new Booking Notification Settings page lets each host configure exactly which notifications they want.

Booking types can now include a cancellation policy with preset templates — members see the policy before they confirm. Intake Q&A answers and cancellation reasons now appear in the relevant emails. Multiple hosts are supported per booking type, with notifications sent to all of them.

Events & Reservations

Events can now have a custom banner image (Team+ plan) that appears on the event page, RSVP page, and linked chat. Color themes and decorative overlay patterns are available on Basic+ and Pro+ plans.

Guest RSVPs (+1s) are now supported with an optional cap per person — guest counts factor into slot limits and appear in attendee stats. Public events can accept RSVPs from people outside your group via a shareable link, with external attendees shown with a Guest badge.

Several bugs are fixed: calendar events appeared at the wrong time on mobile, the agenda view had an infinite-scroll loop, and the calendar header was scrolling behind content on mobile.

Files

File version history is now available on Team+ plans — view up to 10 previous versions and restore any of them. Files can be shared outside your group via a secure link with optional expiry date and password protection (Pro+ plan). Deleted files go to a Recycle Bin where you can restore them or permanently delete them — files are auto-removed after 30 days.

Member Groups

Member groups now have a full roster page showing all members with their custom field values. Admins can define custom fields per group (e.g. Jersey #, Position, Title) and edit values inline. Rosters can be exported as a PDF or printed as a clean landscape sheet.

Performance & Loading

The app loads significantly faster — pages now show animated skeleton placeholders while content loads instead of a blank screen, and the main bundle size has been reduced by more than half. Profile pictures and group banners load as optimised thumbnails everywhere they appear. Your navbar avatar now updates immediately after changing your profile photo.

Subscriptions & Plans

When cancelling a paid plan you'll see exactly which groups will be affected before you confirm. If cancelling leaves a group without any admins, the group enters a dormant state and you get a one-time option to promote a member to restore it. A dismissible banner on your groups page summarises any changes after a plan downgrade.

  • Fixed biometric login prompting unnecessarily after reinstalling — credentials are now preserved across logout

  • Background location tracking on Android and iOS is now more reliable, with movement type (walking, driving, cycling) now tracked

  • The Help Centre is now publicly accessible — no login required — with a searchable sidebar and per-page table of contents
