What's New in v0.12.2

A focused release with improvements across nearly every part of the app — tighter notifications, a more organised groups list, several long-overdue fixes, and some welcome quality-of-life additions.

Groups

Your groups list now sorts by most recently active, so the groups you're actually using stay at the top. Cards display at equal heights with trimmed descriptions — tap Show more to read the full text. On the admin side, non-admin members can no longer accidentally land on group admin settings, and admins have two new tools: setting a member's email as the Reply-To address for group emails, and receiving a notification whenever someone new joins.

Check-in

A handful of check-in issues have been resolved. The check-in buttons that went invisible in light mode are back, QR code error messages are now clear when a code is expired, invalid, or revoked, and the QR sheet requires a deliberate swipe or the X button to dismiss — no more accidental closes. Hosts can also require attendees to be physically on-site before manual self check-in is allowed, and location-based automatic check-in now correctly confirms you're within range before checking you in.

Chat

Chat notifications got a meaningful upgrade. They now show the sender's name and the chat name, not just the group, and tapping one takes you directly to that message rather than the group home page. A few other fixes round things out:

  • Muted chats no longer show unread badges anywhere in the app
  • The scroll-to-bottom button stays visible, and loading older messages no longer jumps your position
  • New chats can be started from the sidebar and the chat page menu

Notifications

Push notifications from a group now reliably open the correct group. Groups also show an unread badge for new activity across chat, posts, polls, and announcements — so nothing gets missed. You'll also receive an alert whenever a new device signs in to your account.

Calendar & Events

Events that are currently underway no longer disappear from view — they stay on screen with an In progress badge. Upcoming events today show a countdown like "In 2h" so you can see at a glance how much time you have. A bug where the week view inherited the wrong date from month view has also been fixed.

Settings & Account

You can now search across Settings and Account pages to find what you need without scrolling. A new Security section under Settings lets you view and revoke access for any signed-in devices. Group display preferences sync across devices, and a confirmation prompt now appears before logging out.

Maps & Location

A few location display issues have been tidied up. The location marker no longer shows a stale "moving" pulse after you stop sharing, trip cards stay current after a trip closes into a stop, and locations over open water now show "Near [City]" instead of getting stuck on "Locating…"

Announcements

Announcement push notifications now correctly include the group name and message content. Editing a sent announcement locks the original send time, the confirmation screen shows exactly which channels were notified, and announcements are pinned to the group home page by default.

Group Rules, Polls & Tasks

Updated group rules now surface a banner rather than the full first-time screen, and the "Leave group instead" option has been replaced with a Go back link that keeps you in the group. You can now delete your own polls directly from the poll list, and task dropdowns have been updated to match dark mode theming.

Accessibility & Usability

Home dashboard cards now have keyboard-accessible move up/down buttons. Contrast issues on the subscription page have been corrected. On iOS, a bug that left the app zoomed in after using search has been fixed. The back button now navigates correctly to where you came from, and on Android, the edge-swipe to open the drawer no longer conflicts with the system back gesture.
