What's New in v0.14.1
This is one of our biggest releases yet — a rebuilt setup experience, real video support in chat and albums, and a foundational fix to how subscriptions govern feature access across a group. Alongside that are dozens of fixes across chat, Q&A, calendar, and admin tools.
Subscriptions & Group Features
Feature access has always been meant to follow the group owner's plan, but inconsistencies meant some members saw features as unavailable — or available — when they shouldn't have. That's now fixed: access to AI tools, Chat, Polls, Posts, Tasks, Files & Collections, Albums, Q&A, Lists, Recognitions, Calendar, Announcements, and Location Tracking is determined entirely by the owner's plan. We've also moved plan limits like storage, list counts, and other quotas onto the server, so they're properly enforced rather than just reflected in the UI.
Chat
Chat gets a substantial upgrade this release. Links shared in messages now show a preview card, and you can send a single photo or video straight from its detail page without extra steps. Video support has arrived in full — upload and playback, correct portrait aspect ratios, and Cloudflare Stream-backed hosting for smoother delivery. Admins can now restrict who's allowed to create group chats, and we've fixed scroll jumping, reply text display, attachment layout, Q&A card rendering, unread badges, and typing-indicator errors.
Guided Setup & Group Creation
Guided Setup has been rebuilt from the ground up into a full step-by-step wizard, now covering Member Profiles and Roles & Permissions as part of the flow. The Group Creation wizard has been simplified too, with redesigned theme presets and a fix for dark-mode icon controls. The general group settings page has also been redesigned with clearer navigation throughout.
Photo Albums & Video
Albums are more social now, with reactions, comments, and per-album upload permissions you can set to everyone, a specific group, or select members. You can capture photos directly from the camera, and we've fixed a batch of video crashes and playback issues affecting chat and albums. Event albums and chat albums also now live on separate pages.
Q&A, Lists, Announcements & Calendar
Several content areas got attention this release. Q&A permissions are fixed, with new mode-aware unread badges and moderation controls. Announcements now support reliable SMS delivery, read receipts, targeting, and recurring schedules. Calendar event bugs have been resolved, and the distinction between public and private reservations is clearer. Lists now carry a max-lists quota tied to your plan.
Members, Roles & Admin
Admins can now edit member badges and custom fields, and a group can no longer be left without an admin. Custom roles can manage any content they have permission for, and app admins can bypass group-level checks when handling support cases. We've also fixed profile photo upload failures on mobile and resolved profile sync issues. Family-link accounts now require parent approval before a child can be unlinked.
Activity, Notifications & Navigation
The Activity Log no longer shows up blank — it now includes pagination, dark mode support, and more event types. The group home feed tracks read status per item, and push notifications include sender avatars. On mobile, the group header has been adjusted so the back button is easier to tap, and several back-button destinations across the app have been corrected.
Security & Reliability
We've closed several permission gaps affecting group invitations, family-linked accounts, and role management, and fixed intermittent login and file-upload failures caused by backend connection issues. Group invitations and join requests that could silently fail are fixed, alongside general stability improvements to file storage and account creation.
Other Fixes
The group About page has been redesigned for public recruiting, with a new "Request to Join" option. A Collections page now lets you browse files and links together in one place, and we've fixed an unreadable login/logout screen in light mode.
