What's New in v1.1.2
This release reworks how billing works across your groups, cleans up a long list of plan and permission issues, and polishes the mobile app's look and feel. There's also a full rewrite of the Help Center to make finding answers easier.
Group Billing & Subscriptions
Each group can now have its own subscription plan, so you're no longer locked into one plan across every group you manage — pick what makes sense for each one. My Group Subscriptions also now shows how each group's plan is billed, whether through the web, Apple App Store, or Google Play.
This release fixes several billing bugs that were causing real headaches: a group's subscription page could keep showing "cancels at end of billing period" even after you'd resubscribed, the payment form sometimes failed to appear when purchasing or updating a plan, and purchases could silently fail with no error shown at all. We also fixed Google Play subscription renewals and resubscriptions not updating your group's plan, and pausing a subscription through Google Play now properly shows up in your group's billing status. On top of that, downgrading a plan now correctly waits until the next billing period instead of taking effect immediately, annual billing is back for group plans, group member limits are enforced correctly, and new groups always start on the Free plan as expected.
Free Plan Groups
We fixed several places where free groups could see paid-only features, and paid groups were missing features they should have had. Group cards on My Groups now show a plan badge, and the Admin Dashboard correctly hides cards for features your group's plan doesn't include.
Beyond that, this release resolves a batch of smaller plan-related bugs: the Maps page no longer lets you add new places after hitting your group's place limit, Group Rules no longer occasionally reverts to an older version right after saving, and Reservations settings now save correctly the first time you turn them on. We also fixed Location Tracking showing up in groups where it shouldn't, cleaned up outdated notification settings, and fixed a doubled border on the Invite Member window.
Mobile App
The mobile app gets several usability fixes this release. The theme toggle now switches between light, dark, and system appearance in a single tap instead of two, and the navigation drawer correctly appears on top of the page header instead of behind it. Dialog boxes now center and dim the background properly, and the status and navigation bars no longer stay light-colored in dark mode on Android. We've also added a Billing entry to the app menu for groups billed through the web.
Other Fixes
A handful of reliability fixes round out this release. Accepting or declining a family invite no longer fails silently — you'll now see a message if something goes wrong. The group creation wizard's Next/Back buttons no longer scroll out of view on longer steps, and the template selection window no longer appears see-through. Admin account-deletion request approvals and rejections, which were failing every time, now work correctly. Finally, we've rewritten the Help Center with clearer, up-to-date articles, including new pages for Collections, Support Tickets, and Tasks.
