What's New in v1.2.1

This release focuses on making the things you rely on every day more accurate and less noisy. Trips are tidier, reminders are more trustworthy, calendars stay in sync on their own, and we've tightened up privacy and storage along the way.

Trips & Location

Your trip list is now much cleaner. Duplicate and partial trips are gone, and long drives stay together as a single trip instead of being split apart. Location updates are also more reliable on long journeys, even when the app is running in the background.

The Trips member picker has been redesigned as a single scrolling row, so you can see everyone's full name at a glance. Group display names now stay in place on map markers and in the Trips panel, so you always know who is who.

Event Reminders

Reminders should now feel a lot more dependable. Reminder times show the event's time zone, which takes the guesswork out of events scheduled in a different part of the world.

A few other changes make reminders less noisy and more useful:

  • Editing an event no longer re-sends reminders that already went out
  • Reminder emails now include the RSVP section, so people can respond right away
  • Tasks without a task list now get due-date reminders

When you use "Send reminder now," you'll also see exactly who was reminded, so there's no more wondering whether a message reached the right people.

Calendar

Subscribed calendars now sync automatically, and they keep your RSVPs, check-ins, and reservations intact when they update. Imported events also appear at the correct time.

Notifications

Chat "added" and "removed" notifications now go only to the people affected, rather than the whole group. In addition, members who have been removed from a group no longer receive announcement or post notifications.

Storage

Videos now count toward your group's storage, giving you a more accurate picture of how much space you're using. When you delete files, the space they used is freed up, so your storage total reflects what's actually there.

Billing & Help

We've redesigned the public pricing page to better explain per-group plans, making it easier to compare options and choose what fits each group. The Help Center has also been updated to cover per-group billing and recent features, so answers are easier to find.

Polish

A set of smaller improvements round out the release:

  • Group home now follows your navigation settings
  • Layout fixes on iPad and in the phone member directory
  • Stronger protection of member data and private details

We've also made a range of reliability and performance improvements under the hood to keep everything running smoothly.
