Check-ins
Track attendance at group events — members check themselves in, admins see the results in real time.
What are Check-ins?
Check-ins let you take attendance at any group event. When a check-in window is open for an event, members can check themselves in using a button in the app or by scanning a QR code. Admins see who has checked in, in real time.
Check-ins are useful for:
- Sports practices or matches — confirming who showed up
- Meetings — tracking participation
- Classes or workshops — recording attendance
- Events with capacity limits — knowing how many people arrived
Finding Check-ins
Tap Check-ins in your group's feature navigation. The Check-ins page shows two tabs:
- Upcoming Events — events with active or soon-to-open check-in windows.
- Past Events — events where check-ins have already closed, with their final attendance records.
Tap any event card to open the check-in sheet for that event.
Checking In
When you open a check-in sheet for an active event, you'll see a Check In button at the top of the page.
- Open the Check-ins section and tap the event you want to check into.
- Tap Check In.
- If the event has custom check-in questions (set by the admin), answer them and tap Submit.
- You're checked in. Your name appears in the attendance list.
QR Code Check-in
Events can use QR codes for a faster, touchless check-in experience — especially useful at the door of an in-person event.
Displaying your QR code (member)
- Open the check-in sheet for the event.
- Tap Show QR Code.
- A personal QR code appears on your screen. Hold it up for an admin to scan.
Scanning QR codes (admin)
Admins can use their device camera to scan members' QR codes and check them in instantly.
- Open the check-in sheet for the event.
- Tap Scan QR Codes.
- Point your camera at a member's QR code. The member is checked in automatically.
- Keep the scanner open to check in multiple members one after another.
Admin: Viewing Results Admin
The check-in sheet shows a live list of who has checked in, updated in real time as members arrive.
- A search bar lets you filter the list by name — useful for large groups.
- Each member row shows their name, avatar, and check-in time.
- A count at the top shows total checked in vs. total expected attendees.
Opening and closing the check-in window
Admins control when members can check in. Open the event from the Calendar and look for the Check-in option, or manage it from the event's check-in sheet.
- Open the window to allow members to check in.
- Close the window when the event has started and late check-ins should no longer be accepted.
Admin: Manual Check-in Admin
If a member can't check in themselves (no phone, technical issue, arrived late), an admin can check them in manually.
- On the check-in sheet, tap Manual Check-in.
- Search for or select the member from the group list.
- Tap Check In. The member is added to the attendance list.
Export & Print
The attendance list for any event can be printed or exported as a PDF. Tap the print icon in the check-in sheet header. Useful for record-keeping, sign-in sheets, or reporting to an organization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can see the check-in list?
All members can see the attendance list for events they're participating in. Admins see the full list including check-in times and any custom question responses.
Can I check in for someone else?
Members can only check themselves in. Admins can use the manual check-in to check in any member.
What are custom check-in questions?
Admins can add questions that members answer when they check in — for example, "Which jersey size did you collect?" or "Are you driving or getting a lift?". Answers are recorded and visible to admins on the check-in sheet.
What plan do I need for check-ins?
Check-in availability may vary by plan.
Can I check in from the event page instead of the Check-ins section?
Yes. If a check-in window is open, a check-in prompt also appears on the event details page in the Calendar.
Does the QR code expire?
Your check-in QR code is unique to you and the event. It stays valid while the check-in window is open, and becomes inactive once the window closes.
