Posts
Share longer-form content with your group — news, updates, guides, recaps — that stays organized and easy to find.
What are Posts?
Posts are for content that lasts. Unlike chat messages that scroll by, posts stay organized, are searchable, and can be referenced long after they're published. Think of them as a lightweight group blog or notice board.
Posts are great for:
- Game recaps and match reports
- Meeting minutes or summaries
- How-to guides and references
- Newsletters and regular updates
- Welcome messages for new members
Reading Posts
Open Posts from your group's navigation. The list shows all published posts, newest first.
Views
Toggle between Compact and Full view using the view switcher at the top right:
- Compact — a grid of post cards showing title, type, and date. Good for scanning.
- Full — a list showing title, featured image (if set), excerpt, and metadata. Good for reading.
Opening a post
Tap any post card to open the full content. Posts can include text, formatting, and a featured image at the top.
Creating a Post Admin
- Open Posts and tap the + button in the top-right corner.
- Write your title — up to 200 characters.
- Write your content — up to 5,000 characters. A rich text editor lets you format with bold, italics, headings, and lists.
- Add a featured image (optional) — appears at the top of the post and as the card thumbnail in the list.
- Choose a post type — see Post Types below.
- Set status — publish immediately or save as a draft.
- Configure options — pin, schedule, and notifications (see below).
- Tap Publish Post (or Save Draft).
Scheduling a post
Set a future publish date so the post goes live automatically at the right time. Leave it at the current date to publish immediately.
Notifications
Choose whether to send a push notification and/or email to group members when the post publishes. Notifications are only sent for published posts — not drafts.
Post Types
Every post has a type, displayed as a colored badge on the post card and at the top of the post detail. Types help members know what kind of content to expect at a glance.
Default types:
- Post — general content
- Article — longer-form writing
- Blog — personal or opinion-style writing
- Newsletter — periodic group updates
Admins can define custom post types in the Posts settings to match their group's needs — for example: Match Report, Meeting Minutes, Recipe, or Announcement.
Drafts
Save a post as a Draft to work on it before it's ready for the group to see. Drafts are only visible to admins.
- A Draft banner appears at the top of the post when viewing it as an admin.
- Drafts appear in the posts list for admins but not for regular members.
- When you're ready to publish, open the draft, tap Edit, change the status to Published, and save.
Pinning Posts
Pin important posts so they always appear at the top of the posts list, regardless of when they were published. Multiple posts can be pinned.
To pin a post: create or edit the post, check the Pin this post option, and save.
Reactions
Depending on your plan, members can react to posts with emoji — the same set used in chat: 👍 👎 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 😡 🎉 🚀 💯
Reactions appear at the bottom of the post. The post author is notified when someone reacts.
Post Chat
When Post Chat is enabled for a group, each post gets its own dedicated discussion thread — separate from the main group chat. Members can discuss the post's content without the conversation cluttering the main chat.
A Discuss or View Discussion link appears at the bottom of posts when Post Chat is enabled. Tap it to open the post's dedicated chat.
Post Chat is configured by the group admin in the Posts settings.
Attachments
Attach files and resources to a post so members have everything they need in one place.
- Files — documents, PDFs, spreadsheets. Appear with a download button below the post content.
- Resources — links from the group's Resources library. Appear as clickable cards.
Attachments are added when editing an existing post (not on initial creation). Open the post, tap Edit, and scroll to the Attachments section.
Sharing & Export
Share to chat
Tap the share icon on any post to share it into a group chat as a rich card. Members can tap the card to open the full post.
Print / PDF export
Tap the print icon on a post detail page to print it or export as a PDF. Reactions and chat links are excluded from the printed version.
Bookmark
Tap the bookmark icon to save a post to your personal bookmarks for easy reference later. See the Bookmarks guide.
Editing & Deleting Admin
Open a post and tap the edit icon (pencil) to update the title, content, type, status, or any other field.
To delete a post: open it, tap Edit, then tap the delete icon (trash) in the header. Deleted posts are removed immediately and can't be recovered.
Content Filter & Moderation
If the group admin has enabled the Content Filter, post content is screened when submitted. The enforcement mode set by the admin determines what happens when a filtered word is detected:
- Replace — filtered words in the post body are replaced with
***and the post is published - Block — the post is rejected and the author sees an error toast; they must edit the content before resubmitting
- Send to Queue — the post is held for review; it shows as Under review to the author and is hidden from all other members until a moderator approves it
Admins and moderators review flagged posts from the Moderate tab on the Admin Dashboard. See the Content Filter guide for full details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can create and edit posts?
By default, only admins can create, edit, and delete posts. This can be adjusted in the Posts settings.
Can I schedule a post for the future?
Yes. Set a future publish date when creating or editing a post. The post won't be visible to members until that date and time.
What's the difference between a post and an announcement?
Announcements are short (250 characters), prominent, and designed to get immediate attention — like a banner. Posts are longer-form content that stays organized in a list over time. Use announcements for urgent notices; use posts for content you want members to be able to read and reference.
Can members comment on posts?
If Post Chat is enabled by the admin, each post has its own discussion thread. Members can post replies there. If Post Chat is disabled, reactions (where available on your plan) are the only way members can respond.
How do I add custom post types?
Admins can add custom post types in Group Settings → Posts Settings. Custom types appear in the type selector when creating a post.
